About the Procedure

Facial reconstruction encompasses a wide range of procedures, from simple skin grafts and local flaps to complex microsurgical free tissue transfers. The approach is highly individualised, depending on the location, size, and nature of the defect.

Skin and Soft Tissue Reconstruction

Local flaps utilise adjacent tissue with similar colour and texture to close facial defects, producing the most natural-looking results. Regional and free flaps may be used for larger defects.

Nasal Reconstruction

Reconstruction of the nose is among the most technically demanding procedures in plastic surgery. Dr. Manandhar uses forehead flaps, ear cartilage grafts, and other techniques to recreate natural nasal shape and airway function.

Jaw and Mandible Reconstruction

Bone defects of the jaw are reconstructed using bone grafts or microvascular free fibula flaps, restoring the ability to eat, speak, and maintain facial shape.
